Yellowbrow is a disciple under Maitreya Buddha, and is considered a senior brother to Jinchanzi(Tang sanzang).
Yellowbrow's understanding of cultivation is rather simple and crude: just follow your nature. If you want to kill, then kill. If you don't know how to kill, I'll teach you. If you don't want to kill, I'll persuade you to kill. If you don't listen to persuasion, I'll force you to listen. If you still don't listen, I'll use magical treasures to brainwash you, and if that doesn't work, then I'll kill you.
Later, Yellowbrow began to question his own cultivation: Since I have been following my nature, why can't I directly become the Tathagata?
So he stole his master Maitreya Buddha's golden rake and bag, escaped to Little Western Heaven, and established Little Leiyin Temple.
The Yellow Browed Great King was originally a yellow-browed boy serving Maitreya Buddha.
When Maitreya went to attend the Yuanshi meeting, the boy stole the human seed bag, the chime hammer, and the golden alms bowl, and disguised himself as the Buddha. On Tang Sanzang's journey to the West, Yellow Brow set up a false Small Thunderclap Temple and pretended to be the Buddha.
When Tang Sanzang and his disciples arrived, Sun Wukong saw through the disguise but was trapped in the golden alms bowl. Tang Sanzang and his companions were captured. Sun Wukong sought help from the Jade Emperor, and the Twenty-Eight Constellations helped him escape and break the golden alms bowl. Yellow Brow fought Sun Wukong and eventually used the human seed bag to capture Sun Wukong and his companions.
Sun Wukong brought the Tortoise and Serpent Generals of the True Martial Emperor, along with the Five Great Dragons, to the Little Thunderclap Temple. Huang Mei fought fiercely with them for half an hour without a clear victor. He then opened the Human Seed Bag and captured the Tortoise and Serpent Generals as well as the Five Great Dragons, while Sun Wukong escaped on his somersault cloud.
Under the guidance of the Duty Officer of the Day, Sun Wukong sought help from the Great Sage National Master Bodhisattva, who sent Little Prince Zhang (The Third Prince of the Kingdom of Sahari in chapter two),and the Four Great Generals. Huang Mei, through his words, provoked Little Prince Zhang, leading to another fierce battle where Huang Mei fought against the group without a clear victor. After a period of stalemate, Huang Mei used the Human Seed Bag to capture Little Prince Zhang and the Four Great Generals, forcing Sun Wukong to flee once again.
Under the guidance of Maitreya Buddha, Sun Wukong devised a plan to lure Huang Mei to the western hillside, where he transformed into a large ripe melon and was eaten by Huang Mei. Inside Huang Mei's stomach, Sun Wukong caused havoc, forcing Huang Mei to beg for mercy. Maitreya Buddha then appeared, subdued Huang Mei, and took him back to the Western Paradise. Tang Sanzang and his disciples continued their westward journey to obtain the scriptures.

After obtaining one of the Six Roots, Huang Mei's ambition remained undiminished. He stole Maitreya Buddha's treasures and returned to Little Western Heaven. This time, instead of impersonating the Buddha, he transformed into Maitreya Buddha (also known as the Future Buddha) and organized a grand incense ceremony.
At this time, the Star Lord of the Constellation of Pleiades from the Twenty-Eight Mansions went missing, and no one knew where he had gone. The Star Officer of the Constellation of Taurus suggested attending the incense ceremony at Little Western Heaven to investigate the whereabouts of the missing Star Lord.
The Star Lord of the Constellation of Taurus, a female dragon, was infatuated with Sun Wukong. Her real intention in going to Little Western Heaven was to gather information about Sun Wukong.
However, the Star Lord of the Constellation of Taurus was no match for Huang Mei and was captured by him.
The other celestial beings wanted to rescue her, but remembering that the two missing Star Lords were close to Sun Wukong and had helped him before, they suspected a conspiracy and dared not go to her aid.
The Star Lord of the Constellation of Taurus waited a long time for rescue, but no one came. Huang Mei deceived her, saying that his Human Seed Bag contained the truth about Sun Wukong. She entered the bag to see, only to be brainwashed by one of Sun Wukong's Six Roots, "Nose Smelling Love," inside the bag. Her personality changed drastically, and she became Huang Mei's disciple.
Later, Zhu Bajie also went to Little Western Heaven to search for clues about Sun Wukong but was trapped by Huang Mei on Turtle Island with the Golden Rake, guarded by the Star Lord of the Constellation of Pleiades.
Meanwhile, Little Prince Zhang (The Third Prince of the Kingdom of Sahari in chapter two), upon hearing that Huang Mei had returned to Little Western Heaven, went there with his four generals to investigate, only to be defeated by Huang Mei. The five were tortured and became disabled. Despite this, they did not submit, so the four generals were brainwashed by Huang Mei and became demon generals guarding the pass for him. Little Prince Zhang regretted his actions deeply, became mentally unstable, and was imprisoned, constantly lamenting his regrets to his master.
Yellowbrow:
You tarried in the mortal world for a while, didn't good you?
Speak clearly.
Once again, I proved it to you, Jinchanzi.
Jinchanzi(Tang Sanzang):
You chose a means to an end, not to a proof.
You sow chaos in hearts just for the sake of winning. How absurd and pathetic.
Heh, if not for winning, why debate over means and ends?
That stone monkey merely named himself a sage. Yet this altar boy dared to found
his own faith and proclaim himself Buddha.
Your faith is firm and will unwavering. You resisted his lures.
All those who were high and mighty found their minds lost and their faith stained...
But was it truly because of their devotion to Yellowbrow?
As you braved ice and snow, did the stench of shattered ego reach your nose?
