Unfinished

Before journey to the West

Xuanzang (602–664), a renowned monk of the Tang Dynasty, traveled westward alone for 50,000 miles during the first year of the Zhenguan era, enduring hardships to reach Nalanda, the center of Buddhism in India, to obtain true scriptures.

Over seventeen years, he studied various Mahayana and Hinayana doctrines, bringing back 150 relics of the Buddha, 7 statues of the Buddha, and 657 volumes of scriptures and treatises. He dedicated himself to translating Buddhist scriptures for a long time.

journey to the West

In the proud country of Aolai on the Victory Continent, a mystical stone on Mount Huaguo gave birth to a spiritual stone monkey. The stone monkey later apprenticed under Subhuti and learned the Seventy-Two Transformations, gaining extraordinary abilities. He then claimed the mountain as his kingdom and called himself the Great Sage Equal to Heaven.

The Jade Emperor sent Taishang Laojun to recruit the Great Sage to Heaven. However, the Great Sage, dissatisfied with the low-ranking position given by the Jade Emperor, caused havoc in the Heavenly Palace. Taishang Laojun trapped him in the alchemical furnace for forty-nine days, but the Great Sage kicked over the furnace and emerged with fiery golden eyes. Seeing the situation was uncontrollable, the Buddha subdued the Great Sage under Five Elements Mountain.

Five hundred years later, Tang Sanzang was chosen by Guanyin Bodhisattva to journey west to obtain Buddhist scriptures and save all beings. Guided by Guanyin, the Great Sage became Tang Sanzang's disciple, and the two set off on the journey. Later, Zhu Bajie and Sha Wujing joined the team. The four of them overcame numerous hardships and defeated various monsters, ultimately reaching the Western Heaven and successfully completing the scripture-seeking mission.

Tang Sanzang: A high Buddhist monk and the leader of the scripture-seeking team, he is compassionate but sometimes appears naive and stubborn.

Sun Wukong: Also known as the Monkey King, he possesses abilities like the Seventy-Two Transformations and the Somersault Cloud. He is Tang Sanzang's first disciple, characterized by his wit, bravery, and mischievousness.

Zhu Bajie: Originally the Marshal Tianpeng, he was banished to the mortal world for his mistakes and became Tang Sanzang's second disciple. He is gluttonous, lazy, and lecherous, but sometimes shows loyalty and courage.

Sha Wujing: Originally the Curtain-Lifting General, he was banished to the mortal world for breaking a crystal goblet and became Tang Sanzang's third disciple. He is steady, hardworking, and loyal.

White Dragon Horse: Originally the third prince of the Dragon King of the West Sea, he was banished for his mistakes and transformed into a white horse, becoming Tang Sanzang's steed.

After the journey to the West

First Play through Ending:
The Destined One finally gathers the Great Sage's essence and arrives at the Water Curtain Cave on Mount Huaguo, obtaining Sun Wukong's armor and the Ruyi Jingu Bang.

"Where do you come from, foreigner? All the monkeys under the Great Sage look alike. You look different, with a somewhat thunderous appearance, you must be a demon from elsewhere." "Back in the day, he even made me kowtow to him on this very spot," said Zhu Bajie, reminiscing in the Water Curtain Cave.

The remnants of the Great Sage "resurrect" as the final boss. The Destined One defeats the remnants of the Great Sage, officially completing the game. The remnants dissipate, transforming into a golden circlet. The Destined One dons the circlet, inheriting the Great Sage's will, and becomes the new Great Sage Equal to Heaven.

Second Play through Ending:
The Destined One battles fiercely with Erlang Shen Yang Jian and the Four Heavenly Kings, even using the Heaven and Earth Transformation technique. (The Seventy-Two Transformations can only change one's height to a thousand feet, while the Heaven and Earth Transformation can change one's height to ten thousand feet)

After obtaining the final essence (containing thoughts and memories) from Erlang Shen, Sun Wukong will be resurrected in the body of a small monkey, completely free from the constraints of the golden circlet.

Concluded

Erlang Shen:
